More than 100 individuals are gearing up to take legal action against rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, alleging sexual assault, rape, and sexual exploitation, according to Texas attorney Tony Buzbee. Among the alleged victims are minors who reportedly faced abuse as young as nine years old. The accusations date back to 1991 and extend to 2023, primarily involving incidents at events hosted by Combs in cities like Los Angeles, New York, and Miami. Buzbee highlighted that many victims were allegedly pressured into unwanted sexual acts under the pretence of promising music careers. The plaintiffs include both men and women from over 25 states, with 25 of them being minors.
During a news conference on Tuesday, Mr. Buzbee stated that he and his team “will leave no stone unturned to find potentially liable parties” in the alleged abuse, or “any individual or entity who participated in or benefited from this egregious behaviour.”
Combs has strongly denied the allegations, calling them “false and defamatory.” His lawyer, Erica Wolff, expressed confidence in proving his innocence in court. This lawsuit comes on the heels of Combs’ recent arrest on charges of racketeering and sex trafficking, which has led to his current federal custody after being denied bail.
Buzbee’s firm has reportedly received over 3,000 inquiries from alleged victims, with an additional 100 cases under review beyond the initial 120. The legal claims will be filed as individual lawsuits rather than a class action, highlighting the seriousness of the allegations against the music mogul.
